About Pup Planner
Breeding is a timing problem.
Everything here follows from that one sentence. Pup Planner publishes what is actually known about timing a canine cycle, and sells the analyzer and kits to measure it. Those are the two things we do.
The kit
We carry the PETlife Pro-DX fluorescence analyzer and Wondfo Finecare progesterone tests, sold through our distributor CanineP4, whose verified-buyer ratings we quote on each product page with the source named. A cost calculator is on the site so you can check the arithmetic against your own vet’s pricing before you buy anything.

One drop of plasma, a result in about fifteen minutes. The same kit and the same analyzer for every draw of the cycle, so the trend you are reading was measured on one ruler.
How we handle numbers
Progesterone content on the open web is full of one thing this site refuses to do: quoting a threshold as if it were universal. It is not, and the reason matters more than any single figure.
Every chart says which scale it is on
Different analyzers genuinely read the same blood differently, not as error, but because the chemistry differs. Our charts carry a reference lab (CLIA) scale badge so you always know which ruler a number came from, and a sourced comparison table shows how the common instruments diverge.
We do not publish conversion factors
Because none exist. No published study gives a reliable way to convert a reading on one analyzer into another’s scale. Anywhere you see one offered, treat it with suspicion. We give per-analyzer anchors instead, and say so.
The transferable part is the shape, not the value
Absolute ng/mL values are assay-specific. What carries between instruments is the curve’s shape, the day counts from Day 0, and the rule that one reading never confirms anything: a rise has to be confirmed by the next draw.
We say what timing cannot do
Better timing narrows the window you are aiming at. It does not guarantee a litter, and progesterone cannot diagnose pregnancy in a dog. Where the evidence thins out, and on some questions it does, a guide gets a section that says so, rather than filling the gap with confidence.
Who this is for
Breeders who time their own cycles, and the veterinary teams who work with them. If you are following a bitch through a season and deciding which days to breed, the library is written for you. If you are looking for general pet-owner content, this is not that site.

If something in the guides is unclear, wrong, or missing a source, tell us. Corrections are the fastest way this library gets better.
